FDA admits approved dose of this statin can kill you

The FDA just admitted that the 80mg dose of simvastatin (which is also still sold under a brand name) can hurt — even kill — you.
In fact, they’re telling docs not to prescribe that dose anymore… except for people that are already taking it.
Turns out that taking 80mg of simvastatin daily, a commonly prescribed and FDA-approved dosage, can cause very serious health problems:
- Rhabdomyolysis (which quickly destroys the skeletal muscles)
- Kidney damage, and

I ran into an acquaintance at a conference a while back. We got to talking about vitamins. (Somehow I always end up talking about vitamins; I could bore a stone.)
