Daily aspirin intake is dealt with another blow. It has been a normal practice by medical establishments to recommend patients to take aspirin one-a-day—every-day—now to eternity..
However, an analysis in in the Drugs and Therapeutics Bulletin looked at six studies and discovered that, at best, there is only slight reduction in the risk of heart attack and strokes in those patients taking aspirin daily. The number is so minuscule, it is debatable whether there is any benefit at all.
British Researchers say the benefit of aspirin therapy is clearly upset by the most serious side effects—internal bleeding. Read More.

ARTHRITIS
December 21, 2009
Arthritisis a chronic disorder characterized by the breakdown of the joint cartilage. The breakdown of the joint cartilage causes the bones to rub against each other creating inflammation, stiffness, pain, and loss of mobility in the joint. There are probably more than 100 different forms of arthritis and growing, —tendinitis, (i.e., tennis elbo), bursitis to crippling systemic forms like rheumatoid arthritis. Other pain syndromes consists of fibromyalgia and arthritis-related disorders like systemic lupus eryhematous that involve every part of the body, gout, and psoriatic arthritis.
There are mainly two types of arthritis that seriously affect people and there is no cure for them. One is called Osteoarthritis results from wear and tear of cartilage. The other one is called Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) caused by overactive immune system. RA is one of the most disabling types of arthritis.
Three times as many women as men are affected by RA, usually at a fairly young age (between 25 and 50). RA normally affects small finger joints, wrists, knees and toes. All joints of the body, generally, are potential targets.
Some of the early symptoms of RA consists of fever, weight loss and loss of appetite, including swelling, pain and stiffness of joints that lasts several hours after waking in the morning is a regular happenings. Sometimes the disease can spread to other organs causing damage to heart, lungs, eyes, skin and nerves.
Cause of RA is not known. Scientists believe RA may be triggered by bacterial or viral infections heightened by a flaw in the immune system function. Autoimmune (or abnormal immune response) response destroys body’s own tissues—in case of RA, the joints are the target.

December 20, 2009
The big Pharma, including the medical communities believe that acid reflux problem is caused by damage to esophagus due to excess stomach acid.
However, the latest research makes it more clear than ever that acid reflux conditions are not being caused by stomach acid–which means that antacid meds like proton pump inhibitors are not the right meds to treat acid reflux conditions.
