Wine For The Side Effects of Radiation
September 25, 2009
Wine may protect women with breast cancer from radiation. Benefits of red wine have been told many times over. However, the recent research indicates that red wine has one other important benefit. It protects women from skin toxicity undergoing radiation therapy for breast cancer treatment
The Italian research study published in the International Journal of Radion Oncology Biology Physics, August, 2009, followed 348 women with breast cancer.
Researchers discovered that women who took a glass of wine on treatment days had a 13.6 % rate of serious skin reactions versus skin reactions 38.4 % of women who drank no wine.
This is an amazing benefit from something most people can really enjoy, especially at a time when enjoyment is hard to come by.
Cancer radiation therapy has a number of side effects, such as nausea and vomiting. Most people are not aware that radiation therapy often leads to serious skin reactions.
What is most troubling is that in addition to all the meds women take for cancer treatment, they also end up taking meds for the side effects, like the skin reactions.
Now do you see where it is going? A never ending chain of illnesses and meds, making the breast cancer diagnosis that much more deadly and miserable. Thus, instead of inflicting your body with more poisonous drugs, fill a glass of red wine, raise that glass and toast yourself
You know red wine has many other health benefits. Here is another one to add to the list. Read The Full Story
