The FDA Kept This Secret from You for 70 Years (Dr. Al Sears, MD)

March 29, 2009

It is distressing to learn that for over 70 years the FDA kept secret from you the evidence of serious side effects of the drugs the doctors prescribe to millions for the treatment of seizures, bipolar disease, anxiety, depression, and migraine headaches.
After more than seventy years, the FDA is finally warning doctors that a category of drugs used to treat the above mentioned diseases doubles the risk of suicide.
In a clinical trial consisting of 43,892 subjects aged 5 and older, four patients taking these drugs committed suicide during the trials, no body died in the placebo group.`
FDA has ignored the evidence of increased risk suicide for people using the drugs like antidepressants.
In any case, these drugs mess around with your brain chemistry. Besides various side effects of these pills, we are totally ignorant about their long-term impact on health.
Thus, before you use your doctor’s prescription for one of these drugs or any drug for that matter—First Read More

Antidepressants Linked To Sudden Cardiac Death

March 15, 2009

Women who are taking antidepressants are at increased risks of sudden cardiac death.
A new study about to be published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology kinks antidepressants to sudden cardiac death in women.
In spite of this finding, there is no letting down by the medical community in recommending antidepressants to women.
The frivolous and insensitive statement by the researchers that “the finding does not necessarily mean that antidepressant drugs are dangerous” seem callous and irresponsible. Does not “sudden cardiac death” sound dangerous?
Here is the problem—although this study shows that antidepressants are especially dangerous for women, it can be just as dangerous to stop taking cold turkey. Thus, talk to your doctor before you make any changes—talk to him today.

A Study Has Touted Coffee As Cancer Fighter—But There Is A Catch

March 6, 2009

A recent study published in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology reported that caffeine has the ability to target and kill abnormal cells that have been damaged by UV rays. It leaves the healthy cells alone.

There has been also research showing that caffeine can ward off Alzheimer”s.

Thus, it seems every one is trying to make caffeine the next wonder drug. Before you rush to join caffeine bandwagon you need to know that the researchers recommend to drink six cups of coffee a day to experience 30 % reduction in cancer risk.

You are not really sure if six cups of coffee a day will really keep you from getting skin cancer, but what you know for sure the damage it can cause to your body. It may keep you from sleeping, feel jittery, may raise your risk of blood pressure and heart rate.

My advise would be if you are not a coffee drinker, don’t start. There are safe ways to prevent skin cancer.
